Shadow Play
For two months in Kat Sotelo’s “Private Practice” studio, I continued constructing small sets that would lend themselves to kitschy narrative portraits. These are reminiscences of high-saturated teenage daydreams: a Rolling Stone cover, my Pierre et Gilles book and a song by Dúo Dinámico, after-school painting class. Mostly, I am lovingly reminded of my original interest in theater and stage-craft: that pivotal self-conscious space, aware of the artifice yet still basking in the overly-orange spotlight.
